Dr. Jaime Lemek grew up in Tolland and is excited to be close to her home town! Growing up Dr. Jaime was an athlete. She was a member of the Tolland Soccer Club and played soccer, softball and ran indoor track at Tolland High School. She also danced year round at The Can-Dance Studio in Coventry for 14 years. She attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT and danced competitively for 3 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2002. Her senior year she injured her left shoulder and neck lifting something. She suffered with pain and numbness in her neck, shoulder and arm daily for a year. It was this injury that led her to a Chiropractor. She began getting adjusted regularly and her pain went away, but it wasn’t just her pain that got better, the headaches she frequently got, that she thought were just “normal” headaches, also went away. The more she learned about Chiropractic, the more she wanted to know. She began working for a chiropractor in 2003. She watched countless people be helped with Chiropractic care and she knew she had to attend Chiropractic School. In 2005 she moved to Marietta, GA to attend Chiropractic School at Life University. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2009 and moved back home to CT. Dr. Jaime worked for 3.5 years at a Chiropractic office in Glastonbury, CT. In 2013 she and her husband, Dustin, welcomed their first son, Liam, to their family. She took a year to be with her son and to start Able Hands in 2014. In 2018, her family grew by two more, when she welcomed twin girls, Natalie & Norah.
During her time in Glastonbury, Dr. Jaime became very passionate about working with pregnant women and children, especially student athletes. Her time as a student athlete has helped her understand what a growing body endures under stress. As a mommy, she knows all too well what a woman’s body goes through to physically prepare for baby’s arrival. It is this firsthand experience that gives her not only the knowledge but the understanding that allows her to fully care for her patients. Dr. Jaime uses chiropractic care to improve the health and wellness in all areas of patient's lives, whether they are having problems with back pain or neck pain, or just want to start feeling better when they wake up in the morning. Dr. Jaime takes a "whole person" approach in chiropractic care, which means looking for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Many seemingly unrelated symptoms often arise from imbalances in the spinal column, and Dr. Jaime will be able to determine the root of the pain and create a personalized chiropractic and wellness plan to suit each patient's individual needs.
She is a member of the ACA, CCC and is currently working towards a Diplomate in Pediatric Chiropractic and Webster Technique Certification. In her free time, Dr. Jaime enjoys spending time with her family camping and fishing.
