Tina Grinold, L.Ac., MAOM
Tina is a Tolland native, graduating THS in 2000, and is thrilled to return to her hometown as she begins her career in holistic health care. She’s excited to join the Able Hands community, and especially looks forward to collaborating with Dr. Jaime around women’s health and pain management.
Tina is licensed as an acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and herbalist by Connecticut’s Department of Health and is certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She completed a 3-year-round-intensive graduate degree program at the renowned New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) in Newton, MA, the oldest accredited Traditional Chinese Medicine school in the United States, and received a Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM). In 2011, Tina completed a health coach certification program at Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in NYC. She also has a BA in English Teaching and Theater/Dance from University of New Hampshire and an MA in Education from the University of Connecticut.
Tina melds the tenets of Chinese medicine with Western and holistic views on health, wellness, nutrition, and physical-mental-emotional healing. It is her joy to support women—and their families—through the various stages of development in their lives; she specializes in regulating menstrual cycles and hormones, supporting fertility and conception, maintaining healthy pregnancies, supporting post-partum and breastfeeding, and supporting the transition through menopause and beyond. While she specializes in women’s health, she is also a general practitioner and treats a wide variety of health concerns.
Tina believes that every body wants to be balanced and pain free, and that every body has the natural ability to heal itself. She also believes that each person is a whole—complete with physical, emotional, spiritual states of being—and considering the relationship among all aspects of our life contributes to our overall wellness. She uses acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and diet/lifestyle coaching to support patients through the process of balancing and healing.
